Alberta Health Services wins People’s Choice Award for EMS Provincial ePCR Rollout.
Alberta Health Services (AHS) was recently awarded Project Management Institute’s prestigious People’s Choice Award for their on-time and under budget provincial ePCR rollout of Siren ePCR Suite.
The successful implementation of the provincial ePCR project was a significant milestone for AHS as the first clinical system to be implemented provincially in Alberta Health Services.
“Implementing Siren ePCR is not only a front line clinical system for AHS, it’s a solution that now allows our 10 EMS organizations to come together culturally. It’s a unified approach to healthcare”, says Brandie Walker, Program Coordinator with AHS.
Susan Chisholm, Medusa Medical Technologies’ Senior Project Manager, praises AHS’s efforts. “This is a well-deserved award for AHS. The success of such a demanding project was the result of great synergy formed early between the Medusa and AHS ePCR teams. From onsite configuration sessions through to the last ambulance, that cooperation and drive carried throughout each of the rollouts.
Adds Christine Carmichael, who led the ePCR project management team for AHS, “We knew delivering a project of this size and scope on time and on budget would be challenging. But we had strong planning, a predictable deployment methodology, and dedicated and knowledgeable teams. This allowed us to actually deliver our project on time and under budget.”
In late November 2012, PMI presented a number of awards to recognize and honor contributions to both the Institution itself, and for achievements in the project management field. Six awards were given for projects, organizations, and project professional development providers who have demonstrated superior performance in the application of project management principles and techniques.
Along with its win for People’s Choice Award, the AHS ePCR Provincial Rollout was also a finalist in the Project of the Year-Business and Information Technology category.
