Regenstrief

The Regenstreif project is one of many future projects to interface with specific sources to import patient information into Siren Field User ePCRs.

The project was undertaken by the Hamilton and Marion Counties and the Regenstrief Institute for the retrieval of consolidated patient data from the Indiana Network for Patient Care (INPC).

When their paramedics initiate a patient lookup to INPC, Siren prompts the user to enter search criteria fields. INPC uses this entered information to search for matching patient information within their database. If a match is found, INPC notifies Siren and returns a matching PDF file. It is that simple.

MedicAlert

Wanting to see an expanded continuity of care network that would link paramedics, physicians, hospitals, schools and patients, Medusa, MedicAlert, and EHS Nova Scotia joined forces to create and deliver data exchange functionality between Siren ePCR and MedicAlert.

The network allows the flow of relevant patient information into multiple levels of healthcare during medical emergencies in order to improve patient care and enhance patient safety.

The interface between the MedicAlert emergency health record and Siren’s ePCR allows paramedics to have immediate access to a patient’s MedicAlert electronic record while providing care to patients in the field. The province-wide implementation for Nova Scotia went live in October of 2009.

MedicAlert is a charitable foundation providing emergency responders and health care professionals with access to personal information and the emergency health record of its members. This information can be accessed through members’ custom engraved bracelets or necklets, a wallet card, or by calling a 24-hour emergency hotline
